Scott Otterness moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico five years ago with his wife, Michelle, and their 3 daughters. His interest in promoting peace has brought him from working in Beijing, China in the 1980's to non-profit work in Los Angeles with mentally ill homeless people in the 1990's. He recently earned a Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Southern California. His doctoral dissertation concerned a description of intense religious experience found in the major world religions. He has also been involved in the "for-profit" corporate world as the Chief Financial Officer of Western Information Services, Inc. and currently as President of Imagine Community Development, LLC. While he is interested in being involved in all of the CPOP programs, he is particularly interested in providing counseling to individuals and families who are facing end of life issues.
Michelle Pesut Otterness is a native of California and earned her B.A. and M.A. in Education from Cal Poly University, San Luis Obispo. Her current passion lies in educating young people through various experiential methods. As the owner of Mes Amis Teahouse in Nob Hill, Michelle offers several youth programs (Living History Day Camps) that explore the history of the United States. She believes that with a better understanding of history, we can learn from our forefathers and make wiser decisions for our future. Similarly, she is providing youth with an opportunity to experience cultures from around the world at her teahouse. Her hope is that tolerance can be learned through understanding and experiencing cultures other than our own. (www.MesAmisTeahouseInfo.com) Chuck O'Herron-Alex
